Guillermo Subauste

About me

With over two decades of global experience in performing, producing, and engineering, this Peruvian-born musician and sound engineer got his start in the early 2000s punk rock scene in Lima. After honing his craft at The Banff Centre alongside notable artists such as Joni Mitchell and Shawn Everett, he went on to mix massive shows for Latin Grammy–nominated Adammo, as well as freelance for punk icons like Joey Cape (Lagwagon) and Mike Herrera (MXPX). Relocating to Toronto, he built a reputation working with names like Measha Brueggergosman and The Sadies, opened his own studio, and scored notable credits in TV and cinema. He also serves on the board of Literal Change, a nonprofit focused on reducing illiteracy in detention facilities, reflecting his commitment to community-building through music and education.
